IELTS Strong Vocabulary for IELTS Writing Task - 2 (Advance Vocabulary for 8.0 Band)


1. Stringent - (adj) Strict - of regulations, requirements,   conditions. 

  • Airplanes must pass stringent safety tests.

  • Government should take the stringent laws to stop the transmission of coronavirus.


2. Exuberant - (adj) Cheerful - of people or their behavior 

  • She gave an exuberant performance. 

  • She is an  exuberant dancer. 


3. Giggle - (v,n)  laugh lightly and repeatedly in a silly way 

  • The boy giggled at the joke. 


4. Emerge - (v) Come out

  • Sometimes solution emerge out from the problem itself.

  • She waited for a long time, but he did not emerge again. 


 5. Equanimity - (n) calmness 

  • We have to work with equanimity in this pandemic situation of coronavirus. 

  • The soul is usually in a state of complete equanimity.




6. Eternity - (n) Ever, all time (time without beginning or end) 

  • The bad time is not for eternity 

  • You can spend eternity together, and you never say the words.

  • Covid- 19 patient should be treated with compassion. 

  • There is no mercy or compassion in this creature. 


10. Fragile - (adj) Easily broken, damaged, destroyed 

  • One should stay away from the fragile items such as glass at the time of earth quack. 

  • She is a very fragile girl and gets easily depressed. 


11. Staggering - (adj) Deeply shocking (something which gives you a shock)

  • I was hearing news after one month and the number of Covid - 19 patients were staggering

  • It is staggering to think we can take such risks. 


12. Delectable - (adj) Delicious 

  • I gifted delectable homemade chocolate to my sister on her birthday. 

  • Indoor and an outdoor grill is a great way to cook delectable meals without the fat. 


13. Mandatory - (adj) Compulsory 

  • There is a mandatory meeting that we all must attend as faculty members.

  • A cooking course should be mandatory in schools. 

14. Celestial - (adj) heavenly

  • The moon is a celestial body.  


15. Assertive - (adj) Confident 

  • If you want good band score in IELTS, your behavior should be assertive

  • Be assertive without being aggressive.
